What is this?

Created in 2018, the Cannabis Opportunity Reinvestment and Equity (CORE) program was designed to address the impact of the War on Drugs on communities of color and other marginalized groups. It provides assistance and resources to help individuals and communities disproportionately affected by cannabis-related criminalization to enter and succeed in the legal cannabis industry.

Mission

The main mission of the CORE Program is to promote social and economic equity in the cannabis industry and to support the economic and social development of communities that were most affected by cannabis criminalization.

Objectives

Reducing barriers to entry into the cannabis industry for individuals with prior cannabis-related convictions or those living in disproportionately impacted communities.

Providing resources and support, such as technical assistance, training, and financing, to help individuals and communities access and succeed in the legal cannabis industry.

Prioritizing and supporting the participation of individuals and communities disproportionately impacted by cannabis criminalization in the legal cannabis industry.
